Diabetic Diet Weight Loss

Diabetic Diet Plan and Exercise

Being overweight makes diabetes difficult to control.  The extra body fat alters the cell receptor sites, so that they are unable to accept the combination of insulin and glucose resulting in high blood glucose level.

Fortunately, once you lose weight, the receptor sites are reactivated, allowing the insulin to be taken up effectively so that your blood glucose level can be better controlled.  Even a modest weight loss can help to improve your blood glucose levels.

If your are overweight, losing weight is the key to good diabetes control and it should be a priority.

In order to lose weight, you have to reduce your total calories intake and increase your energy output, by being more physically active.  Losing weight isn't easy, but the benefits are enormous and you'll feel fitter and more confident.

The key to successful diabetic diet weight loss is knowing what foods to eat and in what quantities to eat them.
